With changing consumption of content on mobile devices and social media, human resources experts expect demand for talent in the digital arena to increase. Similarly, global media landscapes have seen a rise in digital content platforms and distribution networks. From TV broadcasters and news agencies and to other content publishers such as SMEs and government agencies, there is a big push towards meaningful and engaging digital content, both in the form of video content.
MCI’s Study of Freelancers in Infocomm Media and Design Sectors (2015) has highlighted critical skills development in the areas of IP development and conceptualisation. Specific areas include story development, scriptwriting, transmedia storytelling, and digital media production.
To equip media and non-media professionals to be writers and content creators who can craft stories for factual content for TV and digital media platforms.
This course will further refine participant’s skills as a documentary writer. Participants will build on the fundamentals of documentary storytelling, research and writing, to develop story structures for a documentary. They will also write an episodic script for an existing documentary programme, with feedback given by trainer and producer of the series.
Junior scriptwriter, Reporter, Digital Content Producer, Assistant Producer and Production Assistants.
Minimum Entry Requirements / Assumed Skills and Knowledge
Learner should ideally have basic writing skills with at least a B4/C5 in English for GCE O-Levels.
Award / Certification / Accreditation
Participants upon achieving 75% attendance rate and passing all the prescribed assessments will be awarded the Certificate of Performance (electronic Certificate).
