About This Course
The Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) for Associate Researcher (Consumer Chemicals) aims at enabling mid-career / displaced PMETs to switch and/or embark on new careers by facilitating placements into hiring companies and putting them through industry-recognized training programmes to acquire necessary skills for associate researcher jobs in the consumer/specialty chemicals sector.
Participating companies would hire the selected candidates as full-time employees. The participants will undergo a total of 180 hours training* at Singapore Polytechnic (SP) (estimated 24 work days). This is followed by around 11 months of company in-house structured on-the-job training (OJT), and 6 months retention (i.e. total 18 months).
* There are no fixed training schedules as class commencement is based on aggregated sign-ups by companies. Please contact SP for more information.
Participants are required to complete the following three modules:
1. Personal care ingredients
2. Personal care products
3. Application of Design Thinking
Singapore citizens or Singapore permanent residents who
• Have fulfilled National Service obligation (for Males);
• Have graduated or ORD and worked for at least 2 years
• Not be in a similar job role prior;
• Have no bond obligation with any organisation
Minimum Entry Requirements
Possess at least a NITEC/Higher NITEC/Diploma/Degree from any discipline
Participant who meet the minimum attendance requirements and passed all the assessments required by the course will be awarded a Certificate of Performance in Science of Personal Care Formulation.

Eligibility for WSG Funding:
- Singapore Citizens and SPRs (company sponsored)
- Achieve at least 75% attendance for the three modules
- Complete and pass all required assessments
- Complete post-training survey conducted between 3 to 6 months after course end.

This PCP for Associate Researcher (Consumer Chemicals) is exclusive to chemical manufacturing companies, therefore, not open to members of the public. We will only accept applications from companies who have signed an agreement with SP.
