The SkillsFuture Work-Study Programmes (WSP) is a work-study programme designed to give fresh full-time polytechnic Diploma and ITE Diploma graduates in Singapore a head-start in careers related to their discipline of study. It provides them with more opportunities, after graduation, to build on the skills and knowledge they acquired in school, and better supports their transition into the workforce.
Who is it for?
The SkillsFuture Work-Study Programmes is for Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents who are fresh full-time polytechnic Diploma and ITE Diploma graduates in Singapore.

How does it work?
You will be matched with a job related to your discipline of study and undergo a 18 months structured training programme, depending on the sector and job requirements. The programme includes facilitated learning, on-the-job training and work-based projects, to allow you to deepen your skill sets at the workplace. Assigned mentors at the company will guide you and provide support in your continual skills development. You will also enjoy a well-structured career progression pathway, in line with the company’s talent development plan. At the end of the programme, you will receive an industry-recognised certification.
Introduction
Enterprises are under virtually constant cyber threats today. Significant cyber-attacks and data breaches at these enterprises have made headlines. Many of the attacks that have been uncovered are increasingly more sophisticated and complex.
The threat is exacerbated by the shortage of cyber security experts needed to counter the attacks. The growth opportunities in cyber security coupled with the increasing uncertainties and complexities in the global environment are driving demand for deeper levels of expertise in the cyber security industry.
Course Objectives
The Specialist Diploma in Cyber Security course is designed with advanced topics to boost the level of Cyber Security skills of participants. This SkillsFuture Work-Study Programmes (WSP) in Cyber Security is designed as a work-study programme to give fresh polytechnic or Post-National Service (NS) graduates in Infocomm Security or Information Technology field, a head-start in careers related to Cyber Security. This is achieved through institutional-based learning at Singapore Polytechnic (SP) augmented by on-the-job training (OJT) with participating employers in the cyber security industry.

Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicant must be Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident of Singapore and shall be an employee of a company participating in the WSP.
The applicant shall be a graduate from Full-time Polytechnic Diploma/ ITE Technical Diploma/ ITE Technical Engineer Diploma/ ITE Work-Learn Technical Diploma within 5 years of graduation or within 5 years from his last day of National Service Operationally Ready Date (ORD).

Course Outline
Participants in this programme will need to undergo a structured 12-month course which comprises of campus-based lessons and on-the-job training at the company’s workplace. E-Learning topics will also be used to aid the participants to learn independently at their own pace. Learning outcomes are tested through practical tests, quizzes, assignments, etc.
This course consists of two post diploma certificates (PDCs). Each PDC comprises of three modules and the details are shown below.

Semester 1
PDC in Cyber Security and Defences
Equips participants with practical knowledge to:
- plan and manage penetration tests to gain accurate insights into the organisational security posture;
- secure computer and network resources to mitigate cyber security risks; and
- detect, discover and contain cyber security incidents.

- Ethical Hacking and Defences
- Security Management and Incident Response
Semester 2PDC in Forensics and InvestigationEquips participants with practical knowledge to:
- handle the forensics process in computers and mobile devices to discover computer-related crimes in organisations;
- conduct technical malware analysis and prevent malware attacks; and
- build secure applications to prevent application attacks and data loss.

- Malware Reverse Engineering
All participants are required to attend facilitated classroom training during scheduled weeks (six weeks in total) from 9am to 6pm
Award / Certification / Accreditation
Upon completion of the two Post-Diploma Certificates and fulfilment of the skills competency through on-the-job training within the twelve-month validity period, the participant will be conferred the Specialist Diploma in Cyber Security qualification from Singapore Polytechnic
