Duration: 92.5 Hours

Time: Two parts of classroom training: First part on first two weeks of June 2018. Second part on first week of September 2018

Venue: Singapore Polytechnic, Media Room in T11B and use of Food Processing lab and Food Innovation & Resource Centre (FIRC)


What is this course about?

The AnT Programme for Food Production Specialist is a manpower development programme supported by the Workforce Singapore (WSG) and Singapore Polytechnic (SP).  It aims to prepare PMETs to become job-ready in sectors where there are strong growth outlook and good future job opportunities. The PMETs will go through a conversion training before embarking on a new career in the food manufacturing sector.


Course Objective

To prepare PMETs from adjacent sectors with necessary skills to become job-ready in Food Manufacturing sector.

PMETs who are looking to work in food manufacturing sector


Assumed Skills and Knowledge

Open to all Singaporean Citizens/Permanent Residents who are mid-career switchers with working experience, graduated or completed NS for no less than 2 years and minimum 21 years old


Course Outline

Topics include:
• The 13-day programme comprises of 9 modules;
  o WSQ Follow Food & Beverage Safety and Hygiene Policies and Procedures
  o Science of Food Processing
  o Thermal Processing
  o Freezing & Dehydration
  o Food Packaging
  o WSQ Implement Advanced Food Hygiene Practices
  o Apply Food Safety Management System
  o 5S Training
  o Sustainable Food Manufacturing
• The topics will cover both theory and practical components where participants will learn to operate some of the food equipment
• Trainees will also undergo a 9-month On-the-Job (OJT) training at the company and complete a Capstone Project before end of the AnT programme

Certification

A participant who meets the 75% attendance and passed all the assessments required by the course will be awarded a Statement of Attainment.  Otherwise, a Certificate of Attendance will be issued.

Training Allowance:

Enrolled learners for this programme will receive Workforce Singapore (WSG) funded training allowance capped at $3,500 per month.

Net Course after funding support (inclusive of GST) = $3,852

 


 

Participants have to meet minimum 75% attendance and attain competency in the module. If the 75% attendance and/or competency criteria are not met, participants will have to pay the subsidy amount to Singapore Polytechnic.

SkillsFuture Credit

 

With effect from January 2016, Singaporeans aged 25 years and above who received their SkillsFuture Credit account activation letter will be eligible for an initial credit of $500 which can be used to pay for course fees for a range of eligible skills-related courses. The credits can be used on top of existing course fee subsidies/funding.

 

This is only applicable for Self-Sponsored applicants and must be applied via SkillsFuture Credit Portal within 30 days prior to course commencement date

Withdrawal and Deferment

Withdrawal and deferment notice must be made in writing to the Professional & Adult Continuing Education (PACE) Academy via email to pace@sp.edu.sg. For withdrawal cases, the portion of course fee to be refunded is based on the date of notice as follows:

• 2 weeks before the commencement of the course - Full refund
• Less than 2 weeks before commencement of the course - 70% refund
• On or after date of commencement - No refund
* Unless otherwise stated in the course webpage

The Singapore Polytechnic reserves the right to cancel or postpone any of the courses. Applicants will be duly notified and where applicable, the full fees will be refunded.

The Singapore Polytechnic also reserves the right to amend the fees charged or the period and duration of the courses.

1. Photocopy (back and front) of NRIC for Singaporeans and PRs, or 'Employment'/ 'S' Pass for foreign applicants

 

2. Minimum ESS Level 5

  • For company-sponsored applicant, please proceed to submit the Training Grant (TG) application via SkillsConnect within 30 days before the course start date otherwise full course fee ($620.60) will be charged.
4. Payslip is required for applicant who is 35 years old and above (13 years and above for Persons With Disabilities) with monthly income $2,000.00 or less OR to produce WTS letter to enjoy WTS funding.

 

IMPORTANT: Applications without ALL of the above required supporting documents will be considered incomplete and rejected. Singapore Polytechnic regrets that we will not be able to inform individual applicants of the incomplete documentation nor disclose the reasons for selection/non-selection of applicants.
