The Diploma in Logistics (Freight Management) aims to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of the functions and activities in warehouse and inventory management. It covers costing, technology, process, layout, materials handling systems and manpower aspects of managing a warehouse to support manufacturing or distribution. The course takes on an interactive hands-on approach to learning with emphasis on analysis using Excel and presentation skills.

This WSQ diploma consists of 5 core modules covering Global Supply Chain Management, Strategic Procurement, Logistics Quality Management, Logistics Project Management and Supply Chain Process Improvement. It also has 5 specializations modules covering Air Freight Operations, Sea Freight Operations, Transport Operations, Omni Channel Distribution and International Trade Operations.

Suitable for

This course aims to train participants for logistics industry. The curriculum is designed with a good blending of theory and industry practice for effective roles as Buyer, Material Planner, Distribution and Freight Forwarders, Warehouse Management Coordinators or Supervisor, Project Planners and Co-ordinators.

Participants will learn how to meet the requirements of different roles in order to accomplish and develop effective decision-making and problem-solving skills at strategic, tactical and operational levels to fulfil orders and execute and meet project time-line.

Diploma in Logistics (Freight Management) graduates can apply for Ngee Ann Poly Diploma in Business Practice (International Supply Chain)

Assumed Skills and Knowledge

Participants must have their own laptop/pc for e-learning and are assumed to have the following:

  • Have basic logistics skills in warehouse operations
  • Basic computers skills
  • Basic Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point skills
  • Completed and passed the online quiz

Mode of Assessment

Participants are required to undertake continuous assessments, projects and written test.


Upon completion participants will be awarded the Diploma in Logistics, if they achieved minimum of 75% attendance rate as well as certified competent on all assessments and projects required by all the 10 modules within the course period.

The course title reflected on the SOA is in accordance to the Competency Standard approved and endorsed by SSG recognised by the industry. The course title WSQ Diploma in Logistics (Freight Management) named by SP are for easy reference and of common use by the industry. The contents and curriculum covered in the programme you have attended are aligned and approved by SSG in accordance to their competency Standard WSQ Diploma in Logistics, thus it’s only the naming of the programme title that differ.

SkillsFuture Qualification Award

The SkillsFuture Qualification Award (Formerly known as the CET Qualification Award (CQA), encourages workers to attain WSQ full qualifications, which equip them with comprehensive and robust sets of skills to perform their jobs competently, pursue career progression and explore new job opportunities. Singapore Citizens who attain a WSQ full qualification will be eligible for a cash award of $200 or $1,000. Your eligibility for the award is based on the date of attainment of your WSQ full qualification.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the SkillsFuture Qualification Award, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You have attained a WSQ full qualification within the specified qualifying period.
  • You are a Singaporean Citizen at the time of attainment of the qualifying WSQ qualification.
  • You are not a full-time student at the Polytechnics or ITE at the time of attainment of the WSQ qualification. This condition does not apply to adults who are in the workforce.
