What is this course about?


This course aims to train personnel to be competent Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) representative under the WSH Qualifications framework.


The competency-based course covers topics like WSH legislations, promote WSH culture, accident investigation techniques, identification and analysis of hazards


Suitable for


Personnel who are members of the WSH Committee or individuals who wish to acquire basic WSH competency at the operational level.


Assumed Skills and Knowledge


Applicants are expected to possess the following:

1. ES Workplace Literacy (Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking) and Numeracy Level 4 or Secondary 2 education; AND

2. Have completed ES WSH or equivalent; AND/OR

3. Hold a WSH related appointment

Course Outline


1. Identify WSH Hazards and Maintain Risk Control Measures
2. Support WSH Legal Compliance and Incident Reporting
3. Participate in Implementing WSH Management Process
4. Check and Report Outcome of WSH Inspection
5. Communicate and Relate Effectively at the Workplace


One elective which will be offered to participants (subject to changes):
- Solve Problems and Make Decisions at Operations Level (ES WSQ)

Note: Participants are required to undertake continuous assessments, assignments and written test.

Continuous assessments and project.




Participants will be awarded the WSQ Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health if they achieved 75% attendance rate as well as certified competent through all assessments required by the course.

Full Course Fee: $2,244.00 (excl. GST)
GST: $157.08


1. SSG Funding (80%)

Grant Amount: $1,795.20

Nett Course Fee after Funding: $448.80 + $157.08 (GST) = $605.88


2. Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES) (90%)

Grant Amount: $2,019.60

Nett Course Fee after Funding: $224.40 + $157.08 (GST) = $381.48


3. WTS Funding (95%)

Grant Amount: $2,131.80

Nett Course Fee after Funding: $112.20 + $157.08 (GST) = $269.28


4. Small Medium Enterprise (SME) Funding (90%)

Grant Amount: $2,019.60

Nett Course Fee after Funding: $224.40 + $157.08 (GST) = $381.48

Payment is NOT required at point of registration. Course fees is only payable upon acceptance into the course and during enrolment.


Funding Incentives

1. SSG Funding

Eligibility Criteria:
a) Singaporean or Permanent Residents (Company or Self Sponsored)
b) Sponsoring companies must be registered and/or incorporated in Singapore and must fully sponsor the course fee
c) Participants must:
i. achieve at least 75% attendance
ii. Complete and certified competent through all required assessments
iii. Complete post-training surveys conducted between 3-6 months after course end

Participants who have been granted the SSG funding but fail to meet the above requirements would be liable for the subsidised course fee.

2. Enhanced Workfare Training Support (WTS) Scheme

With effect from 1 July 2013, if you are a Singapore citizen aged 35 years and above (13 years and above for Persons With Disabilities), have a monthly income of not more than $2,000, you can enjoy 95% subsidy of your course fee for a wider range of courses covering all Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) courses, Academic Continuing Education and Training (CET) courses approved by the Ministry of Education (MOE), as well as Certifiable Skills Training courses accredited or supported by the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). You may also be eligible for a training allowance* if you sign up for any WTS qualifying courses on your own without the support of your employer and successfully complete it. In addition, you may receive cash awards* for completing training.

Additional Notes


Please ensure you have the following documents with you during online application as documents are to be uploaded to complete the application:


1. Photocopy (back and front) of NRIC for Singaporeans and PRs, or 'Employment' / 'S' Pass for foreign applicants

2. Copies of your academic certificate/result slip/ transcript (GCE 'N','O' Certificate, Diploma, Degree, WPLN SOA)

3. Copies of certificates of training in WSH or other related areas attended

4. Letter from current employer with designation, duration of employment and job description relating to WSH

5. Completed CV including current and all past jobs with designation, name of employer, duration of employment and job description
