Singapore Polytechnic is partnering with SkillsFuture Singapore and Singapore Pools to provide mid-career jobseekers with in-demand emerging skills and industrial attachments in the social service sector to transit into the job roles such as Programme Executive, through its SgPools Academy-SP Connexion Programme.
The programme leverages the learning capabilities, experiences and training programmes developed and delivered by the Singapore Polytechnic, and from Singapore Pools’ transformation journey through its learning arm – the Singapore Pools Academy. Programme participants can expect a robust training journey based on design thinking principles, enhanced with industry relevant deep skills delivered through an established training roadmap.
Trainees are required to bring computer Notebook when attending lessons, as you may need it to access the e-learning materials, writing reports, using the relevant software, etc.
Increasingly organisations face the challenge of limited resources amongst conflicting projects, which often leads to budget overruns and failed strategic objectives. The goal of program management is to coordinate projects that share similar objectives and resources to obtain synergies that would not otherwise be possible.
This programme is for trainees who are interested in working in the Social Service Sector in entry level positions. This is also suitable for individuals who want to rejoin the social service sector after a hiatus as this will serve as a comprehensive refresher course for them.

Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicant must be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident aged 21 and above, and is able to commit to the full-time training schedule.
In addition, the target trainees for SGUS programmes will exclude the following:
a) Graduated or graduating in Calendar Year (CY) 2019 / 2020 /2021 from ITE, Polytechnics, Universities, and other educational institutions. This includes graduates from private universities as well as overseas institutions; and
b) Graduated from the educational institutions mentioned in (a) and completed or completing their National Service (NS) in CY 2019 / 2020 / 2021 and are entering the labour force.
Individuals who took on post-graduate programmes (both directly after undergraduate programmes and mid-careerists with working experience) in CY2019 / 2020 / 2021 will not be eligible for SGUS.
Applicants should have at least a Diploma qualification from a recognised Institution of Higher Learning.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
The Programme consists of five (5) certificates to be conducted within six (6) months.
The certificates are conducted in sequential, but may not follow the sequence listed.
Classes will be conducted in full-time mode, 5 days per week, 15 hours or more per week.
1. Certificate in Effective Communication (1 month)
2. Certificate in Event Planning (1 month)
3. Certificate in Essential Skills for Workplace (1 month)
4. Certificate in Social Media Marketing (1 month)
5. Practicum (2 months)

Award / Certification / Accreditation
• Upon passing all modules in each Certificate, trainees will be awarded a Certificate
• Upon completion of all the certificates, trainees will be awarded with a Certificate of Completion in SGUS programme
