As part of the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority’s (ICA) aspirations in building a professional workforce that is ready for the future, the department has collaborated with Singapore Polytechnic (SP) early this year to jointly develop relevant training programmes for ICA officers. One of the courses that was jointly developed and introduced by ICA and SP is Basic Digital Confidence Course.

The eight-week programme in Basic Digital Confidence Course comprises the following four modules:
1. Digital Confidence for Productivity (30 hours)
2. Digital Confidence for Problem solving (30 hours)
3. Digital Confidence for Communication & Collaboration (30 hours)
4. Digital Confidence for Cyber Security & Internet of Things (30 hours)

This course aims to prepare the participants for changes in the digital world. It also equips participants with the ability to evaluate tools that assist productivity, creates an individual productivity plan and perform basic data analysis.

On 11 October 2018, we celebrated the graduation of 39 ICA officers who successfully completed the inaugural run of the Basic Digital Confidence Course at SP. The graduation ceremony was graced by ICA Commander Training, Mr Ernest Soo and SP Deputy Principal, Development, Mr Hee Joh Liang.

The ICA officers felt accomplished upon completion of the course and expressed that they were looking forward to attending more of such courses offered by Professional and Adult Continuing Education (PACE) Academy.
