Virtual MoU Signing Ceremony with Singapore Business Federation (SBF)

In conjunction with SkillsFuture Month, the SkillsFuture Work-Study Fair 2021 was held on Friday, 13 August 2021 with support by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). The event was hosted by the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and jointly organised with the other institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) – Singapore Polytechnic (SP), Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP), Republic Polytechnic (RP) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP), and Private Training Providers – Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, SIA Engineering Company and SIM Global Education.
The virtual event was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Dr Maliki Osman, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Education and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs.

With the theme “Create Your Future with Skills”, the event seeks to support post-secondary education institutions' graduates and mid-career professionals by providing an avenue for them to connect live with industry partners and participating employers for potential career opportunities.

Virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony with Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF)
To boost Work-Study Programmes (WSPs) and nurture the next generation of talents, SP, alongside the other IHLs who attended, signed two separate MoUs with SBF and SMF. Industry support is key to the success of WSPs, and the signing of both MoUs signified the continual commitment to strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders to build a relevant and competitive workforce that meets industry demand.

SBF and SMF have a total membership size of 32,000, most of whom are our local SMEs. With the MoUs, the IHLs will be tapping on their network of companies to encourage more employers to come on board to provide WSP opportunities for our students, enabling them to appreciate the role of SMEs in the economy and enhancing our pipeline of local workers for these sectors.
