Module Name : Introduction to Entrepreneurship
Module Code: BA0319
Available to students from: DBKF, DFI


Module Synopsis:
The aim of this module is to help students learn the basic concepts in the area of entrepreneurship: understanding the stages of entrepreneurial process, adopt the critical skills of an entrepreneur through the entrepreneurial thought and action mind-set, develop personal creativity and entrepreneurial initiative and ultimately trial-start his/her own business through real-life execution.


Suitable for:
Anyone who has the entrepreneurial mindset and tenacity and is 
• excited to start his/her own business,
• game to take up tough challenges and is comfortable in uncertainties,
• interested to find out if he/she “has what it takes” to be an entrepreneur.


Module Name :Project Expedition
Module Code: BA0320
Available to students from: DBKF, DFI


Module Synopsis:
This module provides students with an opportunity to manage an overseas client project from start to end in an overseas market. Students will be taught the project management framework and how to apply various toolkits effectively, such as mind mapping and user experience design methodologies, to the client project. Students will also be expected to understand the different market research techniques needed to perform an in-depth analysis. At the end the students will be presenting their analysis and insights to the company.


Suitable for:
Students who are interested in travelling overseas to take on real life client projects and willing to challenge themselves to take a hands’ on approach in applying project management skills to resolve complicated issues.

Module Name : Commodities Trading
Module Code: BA2085
Available to students from: DBKF, DFI

Module Synopsis:

This module aims to give students an appreciation of the commodity trading business and in particular, the trading of physical commodities in oil, metals and agriculture. It is designed to give students a better understanding of the whole value chain of commodities including financing and risk mitigation strategies. The course material will be interjected with real life scenarios for students to apply concepts, in order to build sustainable businesses from “farm to plate”.


Suitable for:

This course is suitable for anyone who is keen to understand commodities i.e. oil, agriculture and metals. We will also examine the way the market functions and factors that move these products around the world. In addition, issues spanning poverty, ethics, and geo-politics will be explored to give students a holistic view on commodities market.

Module Name : Design Thinking in Selling
Module Code: BA3101
Available to students from: DBKF, DFI

Module Synopsis:
The primary goal of this module is to equip students with design thinking tools to unearth benefits and value leading to effective selling of good products or services. Students will go through games and activities in the classroom to enhance learning.

Suitable for:
Anyone who is keen to know oneself to develop a unique set of selling techniques. These techniques are useful for greater self-development in future.
