BUSINESS SCHOOL LEADERS COMPLETE 4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS LEADERSHIP CAMP
More than 50 SP Business School students leaders attended the Leadership Development Programme (LEAP) Foundation from 9th to 12th Oct 2017 at Kota Tinggi Rainforest Resort in Johor, Malaysia. The LEAP Foundation program is the first of three stages in Singapore Polytechnic’s leadership development programme. Participants comprised of executive committee from the SB Club, SB Outreach and various class management leaders.
In LEAP Foundation, student leaders go through a series of training and workshops to create leadership awareness. These include learning the 7 Habits of Personal Effectiveness by Stephen Covey as well as how to assess risk, manage crisis and conflict mediation. The learning process included mini-lectures, group discussions, reflection and sharing. Of course, no leadership training will be complete without a series of rigorous activities such as kayaking, tug of war and a half day trek through the rainforest. The student leaders had to apply all they had learnt during the outdoor segments of this camp.
On the final evening, the camp climaxed with a traditional campfire where each group performed to entertain each other. The friendships and bonds forged during the exciting four days will last a lifetime for many of these participants. LEAP was truly an unforgettable experience!
