SCHOOL OF BUSINESS LEADERS COMPLETE 4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS LEADERSHIP CAMP
Almost 50 SP School of Business student leaders attended the Leadership Development Programme (LEAP) Foundation from 7th to 10th Oct 2019 at Sembawang and Sentosa Camp Challenge sites. The LEAP Foundation program is the first of three stages in Singapore Polytechnic’s leadership development programme. Participants comprised of students from the SPOT program and various other SB leaders.
In LEAP Foundation, student leaders go through a series of training and workshops to create leadership awareness. These included learning the 7 Habits of Personal Effectiveness by Stephen Covey as well as how to assess risk, manage crisis and conflict mediation. The learning process included mini-lectures, group discussions, reflection and sharing. Of course, no leadership training would be complete without a series of rigorous activities such as kayaking and rafting in Sembawang beach, treasure hunt on Sentosa Island and the 24-metre high altitude confidence course in Sentosa camp site. The student leaders had to apply all they had learnt during the outdoor segment to overcome the challenges.
On the final evening, the camp celebrated with a traditional campfire where the groups performed for each other. The friendships and bonds forged during the exciting four days will last a lifetime for the participants. LEAP was truly an unforgettable experience!
