SB Award Winners of PolyFintech API Hackathon 2019

In the PolyFintech Hackathon 2019 held on Saturday, 20 July 2019 organised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), four teams representing SP School of Business contested against 30 teams from the other polytechnics.
Our students showed their grit and tenacity, committing themselves to acquire new knowledge and thereafter brainstorm solutions beyond their scope of study. After a long journey of preparation which started from March this year, two of our teams emerged 1st
runners-up in their respective categories!
In the category of Fintech and AI, the winning team consisted of students from DFI and DBKF. They proposed a solution to break down the complexity of financial products and ease customer risk assessment, and developed a machine learning prototype to prove the concept.

In the category of InsureTech, having pitched their solution to a large audience, four students from DBKF convinced the judges with a text analytics solution. It aims to analyse data aggregated from external sources and generate insights for product marketing.
