19 Aug 2019
SP DBA Year 2 Operations Management teams won the first prize and merit award at the Finals of Supply Chain Challenge++ 2019 held at Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) on 24 July 2019.
Supply Chain Challenge++ 2019 was organised by Singapore Logistics (SLA) and Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). The case competition required participants to conduct an in-depth analysis and research on the real-life supply chain challenge of 5 companies and propose a feasible strategy and solution.
The competition, themed ‘Riding on Digital Economy to Moving Ahead’, was launched on 26 April 2019. It drew more than 90 participating teams from the local polytechnics and ITEs with 26 teams from Singapore Polytechnic (SP).
Three SP teams entered into the semi-finals which was held in June. The mentor companies eventually shortlisted top 5 teams for the finals and two were from SP. The finalists had the opportunity to be mentored by logistics professionals from their mentor company for a period of five weeks and thereafter to pitch their proposal to a panel of judges.
With the support from the mentor companies and lecturers, SP’s Team 4K managed to clinch the top place with cash prize of $4,000 and a trophy. Team Destiny received the merit award.
We would like to congratulate the teams and also our appreciation to all the DBA students who participated in the SCC++ 2019 competition.
