SINGAPORE MARITIME ACADEMY
Singapore Polytechnic's Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA) remains at the forefront in Maritime Education and Training offering diploma courses in Marine Engineering, Maritime Business and Nautical Studies as well as a comprehensive range of professional courses such as the CoC and STCW courses for deck and engineering officers. SMA has a team of experienced and dedicated staff, and is supported by sophisticated facilities including a fully-integrated maritime simulation centre and a waterfront training facility. SMA actively reaches out to youths to promote Singapore's vibrant maritime industry and has groomed many professionals and industry leaders for more than 55 years.
SMA started holding its biennial maritime conference and exhibition since 1994. The conference and exhibition is dedicated to education, training, research and development in maritime technology, shipping management and operation. The objective of the conference is to unite decision makers, academics and related interest groups of the maritime world for exchange of views and experiences and to address pressing topical issues with innovation ideas.
MARITIME AND PORT AUTHORITY OF SINGAPORE (MPA)
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) was established on 2 February 1996, with the mission to develop Singapore as a premier global hub port and International Maritime Centre (IMC), and to advance and safeguard Singapore’s strategic maritime interests. It is the driving force behind Singapore’s port and maritime development, taking on the roles of Port Authority, Port Regulator, Port Planner, IMC Champion, and National Maritime Representative.
MPA partners the industry and other agencies to enhance safety, security and environmental protection in our port waters, facilitate port operations and growth, expand the cluster of maritime ancillary services, and promote maritime R&D and manpower development.
