"DIT not only provided me with the foundation to pursue my goals but also essential skills for IT competitions. It has given me a very well-rounded education, which equipped me holistically with both soft and hard skills.

As the lead for SP’s Microsoft Student Partners Team, I also gained valuable experience from management to developing for Windows Phone and Windows 8 before their launch. I will always remember my achievement in attaining 5th in Singapore Sailing National Ranking during my 2nd year with just 1 year of sailing experience.

It’s definitely a well-spent 3 years here in SP, with the Diploma in Information Technology.”

“Three years in School of DMIT have allowed me to realize my single dream since secondary school - to enrol into a local university - and beyond. It has given me a very well rounded education, which equipped me holistically with both soft and hard skills. The education and co-curricular programs in School of DMIT have linked me up with huge industry players such as Microsoft. This has opened many doors and opportunities. As a Microsoft Student Partner, I made a presentation during Microsoft’s Windows 7 launch at Suntec City, attended by an audience of 500 which included CEOs and COOs. The 10-minute experience is now the most magical and memorable moment of my life.”

“Having lecturers that are like friends! I was able to share my views and ideas with them. I am very thankful to have met my lecturers who encouraged me to take on the Presidential post for the DMIT Club. Thanks again for being understanding and giving me endless support during my presidency term! The Hospitality Option in the Diploma in Information Technology gave me a deeper understanding to how the back-end IT systems of a hotel worked. It not only taught me the technical workings but also insights to service and marketing segments of the hospitality industry.”

“Studying in the DIT course has indeed been an experience of a lifetime! Besides the many IT facilities which add to the positive learning environment, the lecturers are really helpful. I believe that the assignments given have provided me with a clear understanding of the industry essentials.

DIT has also been a great platform of exposure where we were encouraged to improve skills through seminars and various competitions. There is no doubt that I will definitely graduate as a much improved IT-skilled person; ready for the next level!”

“My internship at Virginia Tech Corporate Research Centre has taught me about patience with people, things and situations. I know I made the right choice joining the Game Development Option in DIT, as it taught me important programming languages such as C++ and computer graphics programming. In addition, I have also learnt management skills and how to maximise efficiency in group work. I am thankful for my experiences from DIT that allowed me to be selected for the exclusive overseas attachment opportunity in the NUS-MDA SHAPE Program.”
