Students' work shortlisted for 26th National High School Manga Championships in Kochi Prefecture, Japan.

A team made up of four Year 1 students from the Diploma in Digital Animation (DDA) had their work shortlisted by a panel of 6 Manga veterans from Japan. In August 2017, these students will represent Singapore to compete in the 26th National High School Manga Championships in Kochi Prefecture, Japan.

The winning work, " Practise Making Friends First”, talks about Rei (the main protagonist) trying to make friends with a clique on her first day at school.

Rei picks up her courage to approach the group after much hesitation. She began to reach out her hand after overcoming her fear. At the last moment, she bent down to pat the cat at their feet while trying to introduce herself.

Just a practice before facing her future friends...
