SP students put what they learnt in school into practice; design a game to promote insurance knowledge

Lianhe Zaobao, 20 Jan 2021 - Article featured third-year SP students Alyssia Teo and Kelly Koh from the Diploma in Business Information Technology course and second-year student Renfred Lee who is pursuing a Diploma in Information Technology. All three students underwent the pilots of SP’s Industry Now Curriculum (INC), which aims to replace half of the diploma course with relevant industry projects and internships. Alyssia and Kelly spent about four months last year, designing an application to promote general insurance knowledge, at the request of insurance company FWD Group. Alyssia, who was the group leader of the FWD project was subsequently invited to intern at FWD Group after completing the app. As part of his INC experience at SP’s Immersive Experience Technology Centre, Renfred designed a one-stop website to facilitate the linking up of SP lecturers to teaching resources and industry partners.
