The Direct Admissions Exercise (DAE) is for those who wish to apply for admission to Full-Time Diploma Courses:

Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Levels
- Diploma in Nautical Studies

Must meet the minimum entry requirements and eyesight requirements. Shortlisted candidates who are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents are required to attend and pass an interview. International students must be sponsored by a Singapore shipping company.

Integrated Programme (IP)
(Singapore mainstream schools)

Must have completed IP Year 4 (or Sec 4 equivalent). Candidates must produce school results and recommendations (if any). Candidates may be required to undergo tests and / or interviews.

Relevant ITE Qualifications applying for admission to the following courses:

  • Applied Drama & Psychology
  • Creative Writing for TV & New Media
  • Digital Animation
  • Media & Communication
  • Music & Audio Technology (only for Higher Nitec)
  • Nautical Studies
  • Visual Effects & Motion Graphics

Higher Nitec holders applying for Digital Animation & Visual Effects and Motion Graphics must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be eligible to apply.

Those applying for Applied Drama & Psychology, Creative Writing for TV & New Media, Media & Communication, Music & Audio Technology and Nautical Studies must meet the minimum GPA of 2.0.

Nitec holders must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 to be eligible to apply.

Shortlisted candidates are required to attend and pass an aptitude test cum interview with portfolio review.

International Baccalaureate (IB)The criteria are
  • Minimum Grade 4 (1st Lang) or 5 (2nd Lang) for English except for Media and Communication and Creative Writing for Television and New Media courses where a Grade 5 (1st Lang) or 6 (2nd Lang) is required
  • Minimum Grade 5 for Mathematics
  • Minimum Grade 5 for the Relevant Subject
  • The Overall Aggregate should be at least 22 (based on 5 subjects including English, Mathematics and Relevant Subject)

  • Entry to 3-year course - All full-time diploma courses

Using GCE 'A' Level results

  • Entry to 2-year course - Diploma in Civil Engineering. Candidates to also provide GCE 'O' Level results.

Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents with at least 2 years of relevant work experience are invited to apply.

Candidates will be assessed based on work experience, course academic entry requirements [e.g., English, Maths, relevant subject(s)], interview and other assessments.

Note:
a. Those with other International qualifications (applies to Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents as well), please visit the following page.

b. Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'O' Level holders who have applied through the JAE and the EAE may not apply again through SP's DAE (except for those applying for the Nautical Studies course) as their DAE application will be invalidated. ITE qualification holders (except ex-polytechnic students) should only apply through the JPAE.
