1. Bursaries

Application Procedures

  • Apply online in the e-Services/e-Resources (Finance Matters > Apply for FAS)

  • Successful applicants will be notified by the Community Centre (CC) nearest to your home regarding the collection of bursary cheque from February 2019.

Please ensure your address in Student Portal is accurate. (Applicants who wish to know the actual date of collection may check with the nearest CC)

Donors-Sponsored Bursaries

Application is closed for AY2018/19

Each year, hundreds of merit awards and bursaries are given out through this scheme because of the generous donations of organizations and individuals. The values of the bursaries awards are between $1,000 to $3,000 per academic year.

All full-time diploma students who need financial assistance are encouraged to apply for this category of financial assistance first.

Selections are based on donors' criteria (which may include nationality, course, academic performance, financial circumstances, CCA etc). Short-listed candidates may be contacted to attend interviews if required by the donor.

Application Procedures

  • Apply online via the e-Services/e-Resources (Finance Matters > Apply for FAS)
  • Prepare the supporting documents listed in the Application Form and Checklist.
  • You may need:
    1. Income Declaration Form for family members who are self-employed or unemployed
    2. Interbank GIRO form if you do not have a GIRO account registered with SP.
    (This is to facilitate a cashless disbursement of bursaries).
  • Submit your applications to:
    - Auditorium Lounge (beside T17, level 2) from 9 - 27 Apr, 8.30am - 6.00pm, OR
    - Media Classroom T1521 (beside Spectrum, Level 1) from 30 Apr - 4 May, 8.30am - 6.00pm

Applicants will be informed via the student ichat email by mid June of the result of application.

For Singaporean students, once you put in the application for donors-sponsored scholarship/bursary, SP will also help you to apply for either the CDC/CCC-Polytechnic Bursary or the MOE Bursary, depending on your family income. You do not have to apply for them again in the same academic year.

External Bursaries

Ngee Ann Kongsi Bursary/ Scholarship (1 June - 14 June 2018)

Quantum of Scholarship: $4000/ Academic Year

Quantum of Bursary: $2500/ Academic Year

Muslimin Trust Fund Association (MTFA) Bursary

Application Period: 9 April - 25 May 2018 (Closed)

MTFA is an organisation that provides financial assistance to the needy and low-income families.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Muslim Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident (PR)
  • Monthly household income of $4,000 and below
  • Applicants will be shortlisted based on their household capita income (PCI) and its should not exceed $350
  • Not applicable to students who are graduating in 2018
  • Applicants might be requested to attend an interview

Quantum of bursary to be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Howe Yoon Chong PSA Scholarship

Application Period: Closed

Shortlisted applicants will be notified via email in March and/or April 2018.

  • Singapore Citizens aged 25 and below
  • Monthly household per capita income (PCI*) of $750 and below

    - Leadership and entrepreneurial skills

KKH Bursary

Quantum of Bursary: $4500/ Academic Year

Bursary can be renewed over the 3 years in SP if recipient maintains good results and has no disciplinary record.

LBKM Bursary

Singapore Buddhist Lodge Bursary

Sivadas-HEB Education Fund

Application Deadline: 11 May 2018 (Closed)

The Sivadas-HEB Education Fund invites Hindu students from low-income families pursuing tertiary education to apply for financial assistance to help them meet the cost of their education. Students can apply for either a Tuition Subsidy or an Education Grant.

Tuition Subisdy: Up to 50% of yearly tuition fee

Education Grant: One time award, up to $1500

Eligibility Criteria

  • Singaporean or Singapore PR
  • Hindus
  • Full-time Diploma students
  • PCI not exceeding $1900

South West Tertiary Grant

Application Period: Closed

Quantum: $500/ Academic Year

Eligibility Criteria

  • Singapore citizen and resident of the South West District
  • Full-time student
  • Monthly household income of $3,000 or per capita income of $750 and below, whichever is lower; and
  • Deserving students who fall out of the eligibility criteria due to exceptional family circumstances (for example, those with family members who have high medical expenses), may be nominated, subject to CDC's approval for the Grant.

Full-time Diploma students encountering acute financial hardship may apply for the SP Needy Fund.

Application Procedures

  • Download and complete the SP Needy Fund Application Form together with the documents required.
  • Make an appointment through e-Services/e-Resources to see officer-in-charge at the Student Service Centre
    (T16 Level 1). Under Remarks, please state "SP Needy Fund Application".
