Tay Gao Jun, a first-year Institute of Technical Education (ITE) student has recently attained top ethical hacking credentials, making him one of just 150 in the world to hold the title of Certified Ethical Hacker Master. Ethical hackers, sometimes called penetration testers, attempt to penetrate a computer system or network to expose threats or vulnerabilities. The certification is offered by the International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants (EC-Council), which has about 500 training locations in over 90 countries and is recognised by industries worldwide. Gao Jun shared how attending a four-day cyber-security boot camp at SP in Secondary 4 shaped his passion for cybersecurity. He hopes to pursue a cyber security diploma in SP or NP in the near future.
