4 S’pore students launch hackathon to encourage mental health innovation

30 Jul 2021

SP’s computer engineering student, Timothy Liau, and three friends will be launching a hackathon to encourage mental health innovation. The 24-hour virtual hackathon will be held over Zoom with the aim to encourage innovative solutions for mental health issues and combat stigma against mental illnesses. Participants will compete in teams to build a software project that addresses mental health issues. Timothy shared how being bullied and overcoming anxiety and depression motivated him to develop an initiative that aims to reduce the stigma against mental health issues.
