StraitsTimes.com, 16 Mar 2015 - Ang Wan Ling is one of the 20 students honoured with the SP Model Student Award, and has signed on with the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) because she “felt a sense of purpose” in defending the nation. The Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering student is also a member of the Aviation club in SP, as aviation has been one of her interests since young. Chew Keng Hao, a Visual Effects and Motion Graphics student, is also a recipient of the SP Model Student Award. He went on to SP after completing his ITE education, and plans to go to the American Film Institute to further his studies. He also did an internship at Cornerstone Academy with 1Light Media in San Francisco, with the company hiring him for an additional three weeks after his internship ended. The SP Model Student Award recognises students for their holistic achievements. Only selected students from the top 5 per cent of each cohort who have been nominated by the directors of their schools and undergone an interview will receive the award.
