BASF Strengthens Footprint in Asia Pacific

Food Ingredients First, 4 Jan 2017 - BASF launched a new technical application laboratory for its nutrition and health business located at Singapore Polytechnic, to focus on providing analytical service and co-developing products with customers in the Asia Pacific Region. With the newest laboratory, the BASF Nutrition & Health Division now has three labs in Asia Pacific serving customers in different regions. This lab is also the first application facility in a tertiary institution in Singapore. Experts in nutrition and health from BASF will work with SP’s researchers and students to conduct research and develop innovative science- based solutions and concepts, so as to provide strategic support for the region’s customers. The laboratory is equipped with analysis and performance testing equipment to examine ingredients in finished food products, such as dietary supplements, functional foods and beverages. Students will gain first-hand, practical experience using the latest technology to conduct product testing and research. Tina Low, Regional Director of BASF Human Nutrition Asia Pacific, expressed the thoughts about this partnership with SP and explained why they chose Singapore as the location for the new facility.
