Budget debate; Thinking out of the box

The Straits Times, 1 Mar 2017 - Article highlighted suggestions made by MPs on the first day of the Budget debate. Mr Liang Eng Hwa (Holland-Bukit Timah GRC) opined that unused buildings and spaces near institutes of higher learning should be made available to foster closer networking and innovation between start-ups and students. He cited Clementi, West Coast and Dover Road, which are near to NUS and SP. Ms Sun Xueling (Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC) also suggested that people who have undergone SkillsFuture training should be able to leave reviews on the SkillsFuture portal. This would ensure that training providers are held accountable and provide relevant training linked to job outcomes.
