Four awarded new scholarship dedicated to energy industry

The Straits Times, 30 Oct 2014 - SP Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering students, Mr Teo Wen Xuan and Ms Noor Nashriyah Jalil, has secured two out of four government-industry scholarship dedicated to the power sector. The first ever Energy-Industry Scholarship was launched in January to help nurture talent for the power sector which would need 2,400 more technical professionals in the next decade. The scholarship covers hostels and tuition fees and provides a monthly allowance. Recipients will join companies such as Singapore Power and YTL PowerSeraya once they graduate. Ms Noor Nashriyah opined on how she hope to make her mark in a ‘man’s field’ with the scholarship. Similar story was reported in Lianhe Zaobao.
