Helping the maritime industry ride the ‘smart’ wave

Today, 7 Nov 2016 - Article mentioned that the Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI) is looking into various disruptive developments, such as 3D printing of spare parts and “smart” technologies for ships and ports, to ensure the sustainability of the industry. SMI executive director Mr Heng Chiang Gnee opined that discussions are ongoing with the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, SP and NP to ensure that training of future maritime workers stays up-to-date.
