Iswaran: Food and hotel companies can seek for long term business opportunities by tapping on various initiatives

Lianhe Zaobao, 13 Apr 2016 - Minister of Trade and Industry (Industry) S Iswaran mentioned in his speech at the opening ceremony of the Food and Hotel Asia 2016 that companies in the food and hotel industry can still find long-term business opportunities and tap on the various initiatives by the government. To illustrate his point, he mentioned how local rice trading company Gan Hup Lee and SP’s Food Innovation and Resource Centre developed Yamie Rice, an easy-to-cook rice product that comes in different local flavours, that has been successfully exported to many countries. He added that seven Centres of Innovation have helped around 300 companies to better leverage on technology for their businesses.
