Local innovations take flight

The New Paper, 6 Jan 2016 - Article noted how six SP students were presented with the Boeing Patent Award at the opening of SP’s AeroHub for working with Boeing to patent three inventions that will improve air crew safety and productivity. Guest of honour Ms Low Yen Ling, Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Trade and Industry opined that multi-disciplinary projects are opening opportunities for SP students to develop practical solutions for real-world problems. The Boeing patents are a good example of how students from various disciplines can come together to hone their skills, and use them to benefit the community. Boeing representative Cynthia Vandewall further opined that the patents are testament to SP student’s breadth of creativity and industry-centric skills, and looked forward to many more successes with SP students in the coming years.
