Meal in dissolvable soup bag developed by polytechnic approved by Prime Minister Lee

Shin Min Daily News, 10 Dec 2015 Article featured the edible soup bag developed by SP’s Food Innovation and Resource Centre (FIRC) which is currently showcased at “The Future of Us” exhibition. SP’s Diploma in Food Science and Technology third-year student Seah Xin Hui explained the science behind the food product and did a demonstration for Prime Minister Lee when he visited FIRC’s booth at the exhibition. FIRC’s researcher Dr Lee Mun Wai shared that with an ageing population, there is an increasing need for more innovations which reduce wastage. Article also featured other food and packaging innovations developed by FIRC such as the food jelly, food spoilage indicators and Nasi Go!. These products are currently showcased at the exhibition too. Pictures of the article featured Prime Minister Lee visiting FIRC’s booth and the preparation method for the meal in edible soup bag.
