More than 200 million dollars unclaimed in first half of the year

Lianhe Zaobao, 3 Sept 2017 - Article highlighted that government agencies are holding on to more than 200 million dollars that are unclaimed by members of the public. These monies could be the license fees for television or radio prior to the cancellation of the license scheme. Campus libraries including SP Library and RP Library also have cases of unclaimed monies. SP Library has 1,200 cases of unclaimed monies and are mostly deposit fees. An SP spokesperson shared that the poly has worked with various government agencies to contact those with unclaimed monies over the years. While many have claimed their share, there are still many individuals who are uncontactable.
