Moves to boost regular volunteering

01 Dec 2016

The Straits Times, 1 Dec 2016 - Next year, the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre and the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) will launch Singapore Care, a movement to encourage volunteering over a sustained period. While the number of people volunteering has grown over the years - with one in five people volunteering in 2014, up from one in 10 in 2000 - the movement also hopes to get more to come forward. SP’s Diploma in Civil Engineering with Business student, Hussain Fathah, who is also a volunteer with the Youth Corps Singapore, opined that the new movement will allow more people to understand the purpose behind volunteering.
