Online shops head to Orchard as rent falls

The New Paper, 20 Dec 2016 - Article mentioned how lower rents at Orchard Road over the past year have given home-grown online brands opportunities to be part of Singapore's prime shopping district. SP’s senior retail lecturer, Ms Sarah Lim, opined that not everyone is aware of online stores and that having a physical store creates awareness and builds reputation and more business online. She also shared that a physical store may not be a permanent strategy for online brands, and that online retail is their main avenue to drive sales in the long run.
