SIT launching Bachelor of Food Technology with Honours in September this year

Lianhe Zaobao, 16 Jan 2016 - Article featured the Bachelor of Food Technology with Honours as one of the seven new applied degree programmes launched by the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) in 2016. This four-year programme will focus on Food Product Technology, combining food science, food engineering and food business. The first intake is 50 students and will be increased to 60 after two to three years. The career opportunities for graduates include Food Technologist, Product Development Technologist, Quality Specialist and Food Safety Specialist. Currently, the only local universities that provide food technology programmes are NUS and NTU. SIT’s Bachelor of Food Technology programme manager shared that this course aims to equip students with the applied food technology skills via a 28-week work experience in the food industry under the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP).
