Lianhe Zaobao, 12 Mar 2017 - In SP’s first collaboration with the social and community service sector, students enrolled in the diploma in applied drama and psychology course will be given internship opportunities with six social and community service agencies. The six agencies include AWWA, SPD, Singapore Youth Corp, Beyond Social Services, Grace Orchard School and Sheng Hong Welfare services. Under this enhanced internship, students will be able to learn from experienced mentors and have the opportunity to work with different communities. Final-year DADP student Bryan Tan shared that the enhanced internship at Sheng Hong Family Services allowed him the opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life and apply what he learnt in lessons to help other needy people. NCSS Director for Sector Manpower, Ms Von Leong is glad to see more students engaging in the social and community service sector and hopes the internship will inspire more people to join the sector.
