She stays strong despite weakening muscles

The New Paper, 14 May 2016 - Article featured SP’s Diploma in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics graduate, Emily Ho. At the age of 14, Emily was diagnosed with Pompe disease, a rare hereditary neuromuscular disorder that causes progressive muscle weakness. Despite having to go to Changi General Hospital for treatment once a fortnight, Emily is not letting her debilitating condition affect her happiness. She was nominated for this year’s Hero Patient award, one of the Eastern Health Alliance Caring Awards which pays tribute to sterling staff, patients and caregivers. Emily is now working as a graphic designer at the Faith Community Baptist Church.
