Singapore Poly’s cooperation with BASF to train food nutrition and health professionals

Capital 95.8, 5 Jan 2017 - Radio news featured the five-year memorandum of cooperation between SP and multinational chemicals company BASF to train food nutrition and health professionals, including the setting up of the Newtrition Laboratory. This is BASF’s first regional nutrition laboratory set up in Asia Pacific, focusing on research and development of food products to meet the needs of its customers in Asia Pacific, such as major food manufacturers and health companies. Experts from BASF will also work with SP’s researchers and students to develop innovation solutions. In addition, BASF and SP will co-develop modules and final-year projects to help students develop necessary skill sets in the relevant industry. As part of the collaboration, BASF will also customise a five-month internship programme and provide a total of SGD 6,000 in scholarships annually for SP’s Chemical and Life Sciences students.
