Singapore students help give sight and rebuild lives in Myanmar

Essilorseechange.com, 9 Oct 2015 An article on ophthalmic optics company Essilor’s website featured a team of 25 students from SP’s Diploma in Optometry (DOPT) course, who screened over 2,000 villagers and gave out 1,300 pairs of glasses during a two-week vision care mission to Myanmar in September, supported by the Essilor Vision Foundation. Third-year DOPT student, Litnus Gasper, opined on the challenges of providing primary eye care to a country where 32 per cent of the population live below the poverty line.
