Slow start, but going back to school pays off

17 Jul 2017

The Straits Times, 17 Jul 2017 - Article featured Joseph Yang, an executive engineer at SMRT. Joseph failed English at the O levels and went to the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), where he studied electrical engineering. He had a six-year stint in the navy, after graduating from ITE in 2002. Wanting to improve himself, he enrolled part-time in SP and eventually did well enough to secure a place in a part-time degree course at NUS. Last Wednesday, Joseph graduated with a bachelor's degree in electronics engineering with honours (highest distinction) at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
