Supermarket operators should be careful of shop-lifting via self-checkout counter

Lianhe Zaobao, 1 Feb 2016 - Article mentioned that there were several shoplifting cases due to the use of self-checkout counters at supermarkets such as Giant and Cold Storage. SP's retail lecturer Amos Tan opined that locals are still unfamiliar with self-checkout counters so the culprits took the opportunity to commit the crime while the cashiers were busy helping other customers with the system. He elaborated that the system can be further improved to prevent against shop-lifting.
