Lianhe Zaobao, 15 Jan 2016 - Article featured results from a survey conducted by students from SP’s Diploma in Media and Communication (DMC), who found that young men tend to spend more on online purchases compared to women even though they spent less time browsing online. It was mentioned that the survey is part of the students’ project for their Mass Media Research module. Second-year DMC student Chong Joo Xuan explained that males tend to spend more on digital and IT-related products while females tend to spend on clothes and beauty products. DMC lecturer Ms Clarice Sim opined that the topic of online shopping was selected this year due to its growing relevance and trendiness among youth and hopefully the results would help marketers understand the trend in online shopping.
