Article featured SP Diploma in Digital Animation (DDA) graduand, Eurika Yushin Gho. Influenced by her dad who is a fan of cartoons, comics and games, Eurika was often exposed to the world of animation. She also realised her attraction towards behind-the-scenes videos where she could see the hard work behind television animation & film. When the animated film “The Incredibles” came out, she was so in love with it that she specially bought the DVD just to watch the ‘making-of’ the movie itself. This cemented her decision to pursue a career in Animation. After completing her Normal Technical education, she went on to pursue a Nitec in Digital Animation at ITE where learnt about 2D animation and nurtured her love for the digital animation. Eurika decided that it would be beneficial for her to learn about 3D design and animation as it was also the future direction for the industry. She chanced upon SP’s DDA course which was aligned with her objectives. In DDA, Eurika grew as an artist. She was among a handful of students who were given permission to extend their internship to a year. It was a rare opportunity as only 5 out of 51 students in her cohort were allowed to do so. Although she was assigned a producing role at Big 3 Media, she also worked on a few animation projects. For her good performance, she has been offered a full time producing role in Big 3 Media. However, Eurika has decided to focus on her freelance projects after graduation. (Lianhe Zaobao, p6)
