Bosch scheme to help manufacturers get ready for future

23 Jul 2020

German conglomerate Bosch is working with SP on the Industry 4.0 training programme to help manufacturers and workers transform. Through this programme, manufacturing firms and workers will receive help in preparing for the factory of the future through bite-size modules. The first training session was conducted at the Bosch South-east Asia headquarters and subsequent sessions will be held at SP until the Bosch Rexroth Regional Training Centre, at Jurong Innovation District, is ready early next year. As part of the programme, companies can also carry out proof-of-concept projects, in which they bring a problem statement to the training session and apply the technologies they learn to find solutions. Senior Minister of State for Education as well as Trade and Industry Chee Hong Tat shared that it is important to work closely with industry partners to develop stronger capabilities and deepen the skills of our workforce. Mr Goh Chye Lim, a 53-year old who was last employed as a mechatronics and robotics engineer also shared how the training by experienced SP lecturers equipped him with software skills and training in concepts like the Internet of Things. Similar story was reported on Berita MediaCorp and CNA.
