Article featured SP alumnus Zheng Lianfu, who joined the Pacific International Lines in 1991, the year that he graduated from SP. He worked there for 21 years, before starting his own company, The Fruit Tree. In November last year, he brought in various trees to Davaos in the Philippines, with the hope to help locals raise their income, and at the same time develop new projects. On the topic of national food sustainability, Lianfu opined that the government must choose carefully in terms of each type of agriculture or technology, as ultimately, not only do we need a sustainable food supply, but food prices must also be affordable.
