From reel to real: It's never too late to change your fate

Christian James Sethmohan, a Specialist (Teaching & Learning) at SP's Media, Arts and Design School, exemplifies the power of lifelong learning. After a stint as a technician in the Navy, he pursued his passion for filmmaking. Despite only having ‘O’ Level qualifications, his talent and perseverance led him from working in the polytechnic's Educational Development Unit to becoming a cameraman and video editor. Recognised for his potential, he received sponsorships to study mass communications and visual effects, eventually becoming a Course Chair for the new Diploma in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics course. This journey of continuous learning fuels his teaching philosophy. By integrating his own skill development into his methods, James keeps his curriculum fresh and equips his students with the latest industry trends and hands-on experience.
