Mavis Huang, a social media manager, and her husband, Joel Peh, a youth pastor at 3:16 Church, met around 15 years ago at a church-organised study group. Although they first connected as friends when Mavis was 13 and Joel was 21, they only began dating when she turned 18. At that time, Mavis was studying for her Diploma in Communication and Media Studies at SP, while Joel had just started his teaching career after graduating from NTU with an engineering degree. Despite the significant age gap, the couple bonded over shared values, though his parents initially had concerns.
