Giving flowers a second life

Article featured SP students, Chen Yiying, Ye Rongjun, Cai Jiamin and Chen Guanyu and their business, Burning Blooms. The student team found it a waste that flowers were often disposed after being used for aesthetic purposes. To solve the problem of wastage, they came up with an idea to recycle the disposed flowers to turn it into phone cases or earrings. The team also entered the RHBHacks 2020 competition with their business idea and emerged as one of the three teams to be awarded a prize. They will be awarded a $2,000 cash prize on top of a $5,000 fund for their business and an opportunity to sell their products at the upcoming River Hongbao 2020 event. (Lianhe Zaobao, p8)
