Article featured volunteers from the Youth Corps Singapore, who spent an evening on Feb 21 imparting hygiene tips to vulnerable senior citizens who live alone. One of the volunteers is SP student Saifuddin Arif Zainal, who shared that he was not discouraged from volunteering despite not being able to speak Mandarin, although most of the older residents he met were Chinese. The 22-year-old has been volunteering for four years.
