MINDEF allows more polytechnic students to be enlisted early; interview with Singapore Polytechnic student Dave Oei

Dave Oei, a second year SP Diploma in Aerospace Electronics student, discussed with his father after learning about the Armed Forces' scheme that allows him to enlist one year early. Dave said, "He thought it would be a great learning experience for me. Moreover, the scheme lasts five years, and I would have job security." Dave is full of anticipation about enlisting one year earlier than his classmates. He said: "After joining the scheme, I chatted with my friends and found that some of them regretted not doing the same. I hope to gain a deeper understanding of how the Air Force operates. I am interested in the aerospace industry, I just needed a little push." SP and RP were the first two institutions to offer the Singapore Armed Forces-Polytechnic Integrated Programme Sponsorship Award. The programme was expanded to TP in July last year.
