Article from a series highlighting individuals of the Merdeka Generation featured James Wong, the managing director of hydraulic cylinders manufacturing firm OE Manufacturing. After getting his diploma from SP in 1975 and completing national service, he worked in Bosch Rexroth – a German multinational company dealing in hydraulic components and systems – for three years. He then started his own company doing small-scale manufacturing of hydraulic cylinders and exported his products to the region. He shared how the company managed to weather the 1985 and 1997 economic downturns. (The Straits Times)
